Airport Regulations – Germany

Please, note some regulations necessary for visiting Germany. It is always better to arrive earlier to have enough time for all necessary formalities, especially if you are traveling with baggage. It would be great to check in at least 3 hours prior to departure of the flight and check-in deadline is 90 minutes prior to scheduled departure of the flight.

Irrespective of ticket class all passengers are permitted to carry 2 pieces of checked baggage, 1 piece of hand baggage and 1 personal item. The weight of each piece of checked baggage is restricted to 44 lb. Maximal allowed size of each piece of checked baggage is 62 linear inches (length + width + height).

Despite ticket class hand baggage is limited to 46 linear inches and 18 lb. It must fit in overhead compartment or underneath the seat. In addition to one piece of hand baggage, one personal item is permitted to bring into the cabin of the aircraft. This must be rather light and handy item, for example, overcoat, purse or briefcase, a laptop computer, umbrella, a walking stick or crutches. A passenger can easily manage it during the flight.
