If you travel to Ireland by plane, don’t forget a number of strict security checks you will have to pass through. Both your hand and check-in baggage will be checked, either by hand and/or by means of detection equipment. The reason for this is to ensure that you are not transporting any potentially dangerous substances or items that could pose a risk to passengers, aircraft crew or to the security and safety of the aircraft.

Passengers are recommended to carry 1 piece of hand baggage. Other bags, such as handbags, may be carried as a personal item of hand baggage. Laptops and other large electrical items have to be removed from cabin baggage and screened separately. Sharp objects should be removed from hand baggage and placed in checked-in baggage.
