Airport Regulations – Latvia

Airlines that make flights to Latvia accept hand baggage and checked in baggage of certain dimensions.
Hand baggage: for safety and convenience of you and other passengers, each passenger (except infants) is permitted to carry 2 pieces of hand baggage (Business class passengers) or 1 piece of hand baggage with an 8 kg weight limit (Economy class passengers). Hand baggage must be stowed under the seat in front of you or in the shelf above the seat. The total dimensions of hand baggage may not exceed 50x40x23 cm. Infants that are not entitled to a seat will only be allowed one collapsible stroller (push) chair or infant carrying basket. A passenger with reduced mobility is allowed to bring auxiliary devices into the airplane cabin, provided that safety requirements are not violated.

Checked baggage: Business class – not more than three pieces of checked baggage allowed with total weight for all baggage pieces up to 30 kg, free of charge. Economy class - not more than two pieces of checked baggage allowed with total weight for all baggage pieces up to 20 kg, free of charge.
For each piece of baggage above the allowance you will have to pay additional charge. Please note that buying extra baggage pieces does not increase weight allowance.

If you take baggage with a weight above your allowance you will have to pay additional charge. If your checked baggage allowance exceeds pieces and weight permitted, both fees may be applied simultaneously.

Bulky articles, musical instruments, child (infant) car type seats etc. which do not qualify for hand baggage are treated as excess baggage and fee per each kg is applicable. Max weight for each article is 32 kg.

If you want to transport special baggage (e.g. certain sports equipment, weapons, music instruments that are not included in free baggage allowance) you should contact your airline representatives for more information. Any other baggage that might be classified as special baggage may be subject to charge.
