Airport Regulations – Lesotho

Hand baggage allowance: 1 bag. All hand baggage must fit in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of a passenger. In addition to a personal article (overcoat, laptop, purse) passengers are permitted 1 carry-on bag that adheres to the following requirements: maximum dimensions of hand baggage - 45 linear in/115 cm (length + width + height); maximum weight of hand baggage: 18 lb/8 kg.

Checked baggage allowance: passengers traveling to (from) Canada and the U.S.A.: 2 pieces of baggage with maximum dimensions: 62 linear inches/157 cm (length + width + height); maximum Weight for Economy class passengers - 50 lb/23 kg; maximum Weight for First and Business class passengers - 70 lb/32 kg.

For baggage in excess of the checked baggage allowance charges apply at 1,5% per kg of the highest normal direct adult one way economy class fare: in effect on the date of issuance of the excess baggage ticket; in the direction of travel; from the point for which the checked baggage allowance is exceeded to the first point at which the baggage is collected.

One excess charge will apply for: each bag exceeding 2 checked bags; each bag exceeding the dimensions of 158 cm (62 inches), but not exceeding 203 cm (80 inches); 2 bags exceeding total dimensions of 273 cm (107 inches) but each bag not exceeding 158cm (62 inches).

Two excess charges will apply for excess number plus oversized: for each bag exceeding 2 checked bags and exceeding the dimensions of 158 cm (62 inches), but not exceeding 203 cm (80 inches).

Three excess charges will apply for: Business class passengers - any bag with the sum of 3 dimensions exceeding 203 cm (80 inches) and (or) the weight 32 kg (70lbs); one of these criteria is sufficent; Economy class passengers - any bag with the sum of 3 dimensions exceeding 203 cm (80 inches) and (or) the weight 23 kg (70lbs) for the first 32 kg (70lb); one of these criteria is sufficent; for each extra 10 kg (22lb) or fraction thereof, 1 additional excess baggage charge will be applied; such bag will not be carried as accompanied baggage unless prior handling arrangements have been made with the carrier.
