Airport Regulations – Nepal

As per Government of India regulations, for security reasons, all passengers at airports will be frisked and their hand baggage checked by the security staff before boarding the flight.

Baggage is cleared at the airport of Kathmandu, Tribhuvan International Airport in Nepal upon entry (departure).

Weight concept for cabin baggage: maximum dimensions of 1 bag (H + W + L): 115 cm (45 inches). All passengers (except infants) are permitted one piece of hand baggage suitable for placing in the closed rack or under the seat in front without additional charge. The following extra items are also permitted: one small size handbag (purse), one coat or cap or blanket, one umbrella or walking stick, one pair of crutches and one small camera or binocular. A wheelchair for infants, which are transported free of charge, but will normally be carried in the cargo hold.

Unless and otherwise specified in the fare rule, the two piece baggage allowance will apply on all domestic India fares for travel to (from) USA and Canada subject to providing proof of the travel, failing which excess baggage charges will be applicable.

Excess baggage charges per kilogram will be calculated at the rate of 1.5% of the Adult Economy class normal (Y2) adult fare.

The majority of airlines will not accept any piece of baggage weighing more than 32 kgs. Any luggage over the free checked allowance will be charged as excess luggage.
